Covid-19 Watch: 2,025 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,025 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (June 28), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Wednesday (June 29) that this brings the new total to 4,560,583 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 2,025, 20 are imported cases while 2,005 are local.

The CovidNow portal also said that there were 2,367 recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 27,747.

Of the active cases, 95.7% or 26,541 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 14 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Only 4.2% of active cases or 1,155 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 37 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 19 require ventilator support.
