10 shophouses in Sibu razed by fire

SIBU: A block of shophouses in Kampung Hilir, Kabong was razed to the ground early Wednesday (June 29) morning.

The State Fire and Rescue Department said in its daily update that it was informed of the fire, which affected 10 shoplots, at 2.53am.

"Firemen from Saratok station were immediately dispatched to the scene. The operation commander reported that the shophouses were all 100% destroyed by the fire," it added.

However, no casualty was reported.

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation," it added.
