Isham Jalil appointed as Umno Supreme Council member


KUALA LUMPUR: Former Selangor Barisan Nasional information chief Isham Jalil was appointed as Umno Supreme Council member on Friday (June 24).

Confirmation of his appointment comes by way of a congratulatory message posted by Umno Supreme Council member, Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi.

"Congratulations my brother Isham Jalil," the Umno Supreme Council member said in his Facebook post on Friday night, accompanied by a photograph of Isham taking his oath.

Isham's appointment comes in the wake of the removal of Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman as a member of the Council.

The 40-seat Umno Supreme Council comprises 25 elected and 15 appointed members

There were 22 elected and 12 appointed members following Tajuddin's sacking, while the membership of 10 others were based on invitations.
