KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) will hold its inaugural Bazaar MATTA at Sunway Velocity Mall here on June 18-19, 2022 – showcasing its supporting partners Tourism Malaysia, Sabah Tourism Board and Malaysia Airlines.
Bazaar MATTA is a mini travel fair for travel agents to promote and sell tourism products and holiday packages to local consumers.
“Even though international borders have reopened, the domestic market is still a key segment for our inbound travellers,” said Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
“I wish to encourage domestic travellers to explore Sabah through community-based tourism offerings and go beyond the usual hotspots,” he said.
Tourism Malaysia is encouraging Cuti-Cuti Malaysia and has been promoting domestic tourism packages and programmes in trade fairs and roadshows via partnerships with tourism industry players. You can also find them on Tourism Malaysia's website under the Deals & Packages section.
Malaysia Airlines is the official airline for Bazaar MATTA. Visitors to Bazaar MATTA can win three complimentary MAS tickets to exciting places in Sabah in a lucky draw.
“As travel demand steadily rises above pre-pandemic levels, Malaysia Airlines is committed to support this growth by accelerating the recovery of the tourism and travel industry,” said Malaysia Airlines group chief marketing and customer experience officer Lau Yin May.
“We have expanded our route network and increased flight frequencies to facilitate the burgeoning demand.
“We recently introduced MHflypass Asean, a convenient travel pass that offers travellers three return trips to anywhere in the region at a fixed rate. This is an addition to our existing domestic MHflypass, which caters for travel within Malaysia,” said Lau.
Malaysia is gearing up to welcome international travellers, targeting two million visitors to the country with an expected revenue of RM8.6bil this year.
Visitors to the fair are entitled to a RM100 Boost voucher that can be utilised among several participating agents this weekend. They also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes of Sabah holiday vouchers.
