PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,877 new Covid-19 infections on Friday (May 27), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Saturday (May 28) that this brings the new total to 4,500,934 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 1,877, four are imported cases while 1,873 are local.
The CovidNow portal also said that there were 1,680 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 25,384.
Of the active cases, 95.5% or 25,234 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 22 people or 0.1% are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).
Only 4.3% of active cases or 1,098 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 30 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 18 require ventilator support.
