Change your life with Coway

Employees experience a life-changing journey filled with endless possibilities for personal and professional growth when they choose to join the Coway family.

THE global Covid-19 pandemic has changed what employees worldwide expect in their work environment.

Fresh graduates are facing one of the most challenging hurdles in their career – getting a job during the pandemic.

While we move towards an endemic state, fresh graduates applying for entry-level positions should be armed with the right knowledge on what to look for in a workplace.

For instance, a recent study – commissioned by Randstad and independently conducted by Kantar TNS – explores the top employee value proposition (EVP) factors that influence employees and job seekers in their search for a new career.

The top three EVPs that Malaysian respondents seek in an ideal employer in 2021 are:

> Attractive salary and benefits (72%)

> Work-life balance (69%)

> Strong management (64%).

Here’s a sneak peek at the EVPs that Coway has to offer:

Choi shares that Coway is a people company which puts its people first, and always ensures its employees grow along with the company and reach their fullest potential through motivation, appreciation and dedication.Choi shares that Coway is a people company which puts its people first, and always ensures its employees grow along with the company and reach their fullest potential through motivation, appreciation and dedication.

Money and fun perks

According to Coway Malaysia chief financial officer Daniel Choi, employee welfare has always been the company’s top priority.

“As the company continues to achieve positive growth and revenues, our employees are rewarded with bonuses and increments that meet with the current industry market trend.

“The employee benefits plan is reviewed annually to keep up with the trend and to meet the needs of Cowayians.

“One of them is healthcare, whereby we encourage employees to utilise our health screening benefits for early detection against illnesses,” he said.

Coway also offers fun perks such as opportunities for Cowayians to visit our headquarters in South Korea to exchange cultures and experiences with our Coway family around the globe. Besides, the company also encourages employees to be involved in HR policy-making through the Coway-Happy-Committee whereby they can brainstorm and share their feedback with the HR team.

To further contribute to Malaysia’s research and development (R&D) industry, Coway Malaysia has recently collaborated with Universiti Malaya (UM) to set up Coway’s first international R&D centre in the university with multiple laboratories to carry out water and sleep quality research as well as product design with Malaysians in mind. Through this collaboration, Coway employees get a chance to work with industry experts from South Korea and Malaysia with the exchange of knowledge and cross-functional understanding.

Coway products are also loved by celebrities, which led to Coway’s collaboration with BTS, the world-renowned K-pop group.

“The team will get a first preview of any materials that we are doing with our global brand ambassador, BTS.

“Besides, recently we announced Mira Filzah as our local brand ambassador. We will conduct more exciting events and at the same time they will get to meet Mira,” he said.

Work-life balance

Coway believes that work life balance is important as it can improve one’s physical, emotional and mental health.

“As a company that champions life, striking a work-life balance has never been more important at Coway.

“For example, our Coway Ladies (or Codys) who specialise in servicing products at customers’ homes enjoy a flexible work schedule. It is not uncommon to see these roles filled by single mothers or mothers with little children to look after at home, Coway believes in providing equal opportunities for all women,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the office, Coway has a Wellness Zone, where employees have a place to relax and rejuvenate with equipment such as massage chairs, nursing room for mothers and a corner for a slightly quieter zone where employees can use their personal time whenever they need.

“Within the team itself, we work flexibly to ensure productivity. We encourage the team to get their work done efficiently and have more flexibility when it comes to personal life.

“We also emphasise inclusivity, as we want to build a diverse workplace in understanding and accepting different cultures, races and genders. We have regular festival celebrations where the top management and employees all join and have a great time together,” he said.

Welcoming company culture

Choi opined that Coway’s mission statement says it all.

“With our innovation, we create a healthy and convenient living environment, because we believe that it is the key to having happy employees.

Coway which prides itself in being The Best Life Solution Company participated in the Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (PIKAS) last year to safeguard the well-being of over 22,000 Coway professionals nationwide.Coway which prides itself in being The Best Life Solution Company participated in the Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (PIKAS) last year to safeguard the well-being of over 22,000 Coway professionals nationwide.

“Coway also strives to take its employees on a life-changing journey that encourages its staff to lead a healthy lifestyle both inside the office and at home,” he said.

Besides that, he added that the company also encourages its employees to experience the fulfilment of contributing through its many corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

As for fresh graduates embarking on a new adventure, he said they would be exposed to endless possibilities and a world of opportunities as they grow with the company in all aspects, including giving back to society and the environment via the company’s series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives while enriching the lives of future generations.

Coway was voted as one of the top six Most Preferred Employers in Malaysia as part of the Graduan Brand Awards 2021, an annual study that has seen participation of over 150,000 Malaysian talent in the past decade.

“Joining the Coway family is akin to embarking on a life-changing journey. It is a journey filled with endless possibilities for personal and professional growth.

“This is not just limited to local opportunities, Cowayians may also stand a chance to be assigned to support other Coway subsidiaries overseas,” Choi said.
