PETALING JAYA: A police report will be lodged by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's legal team over the alleged PAS intelligence report that went viral on Wednesday (April 20).
Ahmad Zahid's lead counsel, Hisham Teh Poh Teik, said the legal team were "shocked and troubled" over the contents of the intelligence report allegedly authored by PAS central committee.
Hisham said the contents of the intelligence report had detailed plots to expedite the court cases of Ahmad Zahid and former Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak, adding that investigations must be carried out to ensure the integrity of the judicial process.
"A police report on the above will be lodged and we asked the relevant authorities to have the matter thoroughly investigated to determine whether attempts were made to compromise the integrity of the judicial process," said Hisham.
Hisham made the remarks in a statement on Wednesday (April 20) afternoon.
The alleged intelligence report by PAS central committee had contained the findings made by secretary general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar in five separate meetings with top leaders.
In Kuala Terengganu on Wednesday (April 20) afternoon, Samsuri, who is also PAS vice-president, dismissed the alleged intelligence report as thrash.
"Do people really believe such a rubbish document? I chuckled at it. Even my name was spelt wrongly," he told reporters after officiating an event at Wisma Darul Iman in Kuala Terengganu.
The intelligence report, published by a website known as Malaysia-Hot, had named several political heavyweights, among them former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and Perikatan Nasional information chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
