Nurse loses RM50,000 to scammers


KOTA KINABALU: A nurse lost RM50,000 after being told that an arrest warrant had been issued against her for tax arrears owed by her “company”.

Beaufort district police chief Deputy Supt Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said the 44-year-old nurse, who is attached to a hospital in Beaufort, claimed she received a call from an Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) staff at around 3.30pm on Sunday.
