KING of Mandopop Jay Chou shared that being admired by his children was “better than any award” he has ever received, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The father-of-two recently posted a photo of his son Romeo, three, and daughter Hathaway, six, watching him on TV playing the character Kato in the 2011 superhero movie, Green Hornet.
“They finally agreed that daddy is better than Spider-Man! The greatest achievement one can ask for is that your kids see you as a hero.
“Better than any award I’ve ever received,” he wrote in English on his Instagram profile.
In the movie, Chou starred alongside big Hollywood names Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz.
The movie was received poorly by critics but was a moderate success at the box office.
Chou is married to Taiwanese-Australian actress Hannah Quinlivan, who is currently pregnant with their third child.
> Taiwanese singer Selina Jen was moved to tears when speaking about her new younger boyfriend on a TV programme recently, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The 40-year-old was promoting her new horror flick The Funeral on the Taiwanese variety show Student when she was asked about her new beau.
Jen, who is a big fan of coriander, spoke of how her boyfriend pleasantly surprised her when she invited him to dine at her home.
According to Jen, it had been very difficult to find that particular herb due to the weather so she had resorted to do without it for her recipe.
Her boyfriend, however, surprised her by bringing her a bunch of coriander when he arrived.
Apparently, he, too, failed to find any coriander after scouring several supermarkets and had to beg a noodle hawker to sell him some.
“This is the weight of coriander. Coriander may be light but (he) holds a lot of weight in my heart!” Jen said with tears streaming down her face.
Jen also revealed she was old enough to know what she wanted and did not attempt to hide the relationship, adding that she was surprised that it took so long for the press to find out.
“At this age, I already know what I want. I am enjoying life with confidence and have not deliberately hid anything.
“In fact, I have been on ‘high profile’ (public dates) but no one noticed! When I was photographed (with my boyfriend), it was my truest self!” she said.
Jen, who is a divorcee, urged other women not to give up on love.
“Know how to love yourself. You will find someone who best suits you in time!” she said.
It was earlier reported that Jen was photographed together with a mysterious man in China recently.
She appeared to be in good spirits, chatting animatedly with him in the photos.
She was also seen holding his hand and leaning on him before they left in a taxi.
Jen later confirmed on social media that she was in a relationship after being divorced for six years.
She rose to prominence in 2001 with the all-girl band S.H.E with Ella Chen and Hebe Tien. She married lawyer Richard Chang in 2011 but they divorced in 2016.
In 2010, she suffered third-degree burns while filming the Chinese television serial I Have A Date With Spring In Shanghai.
