Car crashes into restaurant, ten injured

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of ten people were injured when a car crashed into a table full of diners at a Jalan Klang Lama restaurant on Sunday (March 20) night.

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said in a statement on Monday (March 21) that the 57-year-old driver of the car lost control and collided with another vehicle and eight patrons dining at the restaurant.

He added that two were seriously injured and that two pedestrians were also hit by the driver, saying that those injured have been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

"Preliminary checks showed that the driver had alcohol levels above the legal limit. He has been arrested and remanded for further action," said ACP Sarifudin.
