PETALING JAYA: The date to reopen the country's borders is in the hands of the Prime Minister, says Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said this when asked if they already have a date set.
"We will leave it to the Prime Minister to announce," he told reporters on Thursday (Feb 24).
Meanwhile, Khairy said a number of Ministers who tested positive for Covid-19 are all in stable condition.
"These ministers experienced mild symptoms and are expected to make a full and speedy recovery," he said.
When asked about the Omicron BA.2 sub variant, Khairy said it was not a separate variant of concern, as far as the World Health Organisation was concerned.
"I have asked the Institute for Medical Research to provide further details on both the transmissibility of BA.2, as well as its virulence," he said.
