Police looking for two suspects involved in shooting of a man in Prai

BUTTERWORTH: Police are looking for two suspects who shot dead a man in Jalan Baru, Seberang Prai who was found dead in a pool of blood.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Shafee Abd Samad said the suspects were believed to be on two motorcycles, although their registration numbers was not known.

"The Forensic Department found several bullet shells in the area where the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was shot.

"The victim was believed to have died on the spot," said ACP Shafee in a statement.

In the 9.30pm incident on Monday (Jan 31), police rushed to Pangsapuri Meritus in Jalan Baru after receiving a call from the public that a man was shot at the car park of the building.

ACP Shafee said the victim had 11 previous criminal records with four cases and was on the wanted list of the police.

The body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem.

"Anyone who saw the incident or had any information should come forward or call investigating officer ASP Nurul Farahida Ismail at 019-565 8059 or 04-538 2222," he said.
