Covid-19: Terengganu opens 72 PPV to dispense booster shots


KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 72 Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPV) have been opened in all eight districts across Terengganu to increase the capacity for administering booster shots in the state.

State Health Department director Datuk Dr Kasemani Embong said of the total, 24 PPV are government health clinics, 39 are private clinics, two are private hospitals and seven are off-site PPV.

"The four off-site PPV that have been operating are at the Hiliran People’s Housing Project (PPR) Multipurpose Hall, Kuala Terengganu; Dewan Sivik Bijangga, Dungun; Dewan Gong Kemuntong, Besut; and Rimba Square in Kuala Nerus.

"Beginning Monday (Jan 10), three more off-site PPV will begin operation, namely at the Dewan Serbaguna Tepoh, Kuala Nerus; Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Polytechnic hall in Dungun and Padang Laban shoplots; and Bukit Payong in Marang,” she said in a statement Monday.

So far, 179,300 individuals or 24.9% of the state’s total population have received their booster doses. – Bernama
