PETALING JAYA: It won't be a white Christmas for Malaysians, but some could be in for a wet Christmas.
However, those in the north of the peninsula can expect sunny skies and good weather on Saturday (Dec 25).
In a statement on Thursday (Dec 23), the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said there will be rain or thunderstorms in one or two places in the coastal areas of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Sarawak (Kuching, Betong, Mukah, Sarikei, Sibu and Bintulu) and Sabah (Kudat, Sandakan and Tawau) on Christmas morning.
“Other places will be cloudy or there will be no rain.
“In the afternoon, there will be rain or thunderstorms in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
“It is expected to be cloudy but no rain in other parts of the country.
“At night, there will be rain in some areas in Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak (Limbang, Miri and Kapit), Sabah (West Coast, Tawau and Sandakan) and Labuan.
“There will be no rain at other places,” the statement added.
