Floods: King describes situation in KL as similar to 1971 disaster


KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah describes the flood situation in the federal capital on Saturday (Dec 18) night as similar to the major floods disaster that occurred in 1971.

During the 1971 floods, at least 32 people were killed over 180,000 people were affected, at a time when the population was only about 10 million.
