‘Don't worry, our doors are always open,' PBDS tells Ali Biju

KUCHING: Datuk Ali Biju (pic) can always join state-based Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDS) if he is sacked from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia for contesting as an Independent in Krian.

PBDS president Bobby William said the party's doors were always open for the Deputy Energy and Natural Resources Minister, as long as he was willing to fight for the betterment of the Dayak community in Sarawak.

“PBDS welcomes Ali. So, Ali doesn’t have to be worried if Bersatu decides to take action against him.

“As a Dayak-based political party, there isn’t an issue if Ali wants to join PBDS because our doors are always open to any Dayak, without taking into account their religious beliefs,” Bobby said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 9).

On Wednesday (Dec 8), Gabungan Parti Sarawak chairman Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg expressed his disappointment that Bersatu members, including Ali, had reneged on an agreement not to contest in the state election.

Abang Johari said he would wait for Bersatu to take action against its members who went rogue.

Apart from Ali, Bersatu’s Siki Balarik is contesting in Belaha, Ricky Enteri in Bawang Assan and Ismawi Muhammad in Muara Tuang.

Siki is Hulu Rajang Bersatu chief while Ricky is a youth activist from Bawang Assan.

Ismawi is Kota Samarahan Bersatu division chief.
