VALUABLE ornamental yam plants are all the rage now and in high demand which is why Azita Mohamad owns more than 100 species, reported Berita Harian.
The 47-year-old from Kampung Banggol Katong, Kuala Terengganu, said she focuses on buying various species of yam seeds to grow and sell.
“At first, I only bought 10 species priced between RM10 and RM18 per tree. Now I can earn RM300 to RM800 a day,” she said.
The species she owns includes mojito, black coral, frydex, sila gold, monsawang, pharaoh mask, albino, and ramlah pink.
Many are looking at commercially cultivating these plants because of their wide variety of patterns, colours and high value that can fetch thousands of ringgit.

Their content showcases their personal lives, focusing on the differences in culture, food and language.
