State constitutions to be amended to enable 18-year-olds and above to become election candidates, says PM

PUTRAJAYA: State constitutions will be amended to allow individuals aged 18 and above to become election candidates, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said all Mentris Besar and Chief Ministers had agreed to make the necessary amendments to their state constitutions so that those 18 and above can contest in a general election or a by-election.
