PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan will contest all 28 seats in the coming Melaka state elections, and former chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron will contest under its banner at the Asahan state seat, while Datuk Nor Azman Hassan will defend his Pantai Kundor seat.
PKR information chief Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin will contest the Paya Rumput state seat, said Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the announcement.
"DAP will contest eight seats, Amanah (Parti Amanah Negara) will contest nine, PKR will contest 11. But all will be under Pakatan."
Anwar also said Idris has been accepted as a PKR member, while Nor Azman has been accepted as an Amanah member.
“Pakatan Harapan will work hand-in-hand to win the election.
“We will contest under one party. We need stable politics and we reject corruption as well as abuse of power," he said.
Anwar added that there are many new faces, as well as old timers in the upcoming Melaka election.
“Our candidates are relatively young, with the youngest being 21 years old.
“Of course, we also have some seniors in the line-up.
“We also have several female candidates for all three parties,” he said.

DAP named its candidates on Friday (Nov 5), and it will be contesting in eight seats under the Pakatan logo.
During the press conference announcing its candidates, it introduced two new faces for the Melaka state election on Nov 20, in addition to retaining six incumbents.
The two new faces are Muhamad Danish Zainudin, 25, who would be fielded in the Pengkalan Batu seat, while Leng Chau Yen, 37, will contest the Bandar Hilir seat.
The Melaka State Assembly was dissolved on Oct 4, after four assemblymen withdrew their support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.
The Election Commission (EC) has set Nomination Day for the election on Nov 8.
Polling day for the election will be held on Nov 20, while early voting will take place on Nov 16.
