Unity in diversity makes Malaysia unique, says Dr Wee after Deepavali visit

KUALA LUMPUR: Unity is an integral part of the Malaysian Family and unity in diversity has made Malaysia a unique country, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president also said such unity should always be defended.

"Grateful that we are able to enjoy harmony in a society of various races and beliefs when every festivity can be celebrated together," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (Nov 5).

Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister, paid a visit to MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran at his home along with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Thursday (Nov 4), in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration.

Among others who attended were Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Sadique and Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

Dr Wee also paid a visit to Saravanan’s house, who is MIC deputy president, on the same day.
