Three-year-old boy feared drowned after falling into Sg Tawau

TAWAU (Bernama): A three-year-old boy is feared to have drowned after falling off a bridge into Sungai Tawau at Kampung Jawa Lanut here on Saturday (Oct 23) afternoon.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said in a statement that they learnt of the incident at 2.45pm.

"A team commenced a search and rescue operation for Mohd Alif Amuddin along the river with a two-km radius search from the location the victim was reported to have fallen from.

"Police and villagers also assisted in the search operation,” the statement read.

The operation was halted at 6.05pm and will resume on Sunday (Oct 24). - Bernama
