Man, woman found dead at PPR in Setapak Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR: A man and a woman were found dead at the Sri Semarak People's Housing Project (PPR) in Setapak Jaya on Wednesday (Oct 20).

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the body of the 50-year-old man was discovered in the living room while the body of the 51-year-old woman was found at the master bedroom of the unit at about 11am Wednesday.

"Checks revealed there was no element of foul play.

"Both victims were not married to each other and worked as cleaning contract workers," he said when contacted.

The victims' colleague went to the PPR when both failed to show up for work, he added.

"The colleague then contacted the police after discovering the housing unit was locked and the victims could not be reached," he said.

Supt Ashari said both victims had histories of diabetes and high blood pressure.

"The bodies have been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for post-mortem.

"The case has been classified as sudden death," he said.

He urged those with information to contact the Wangsa Maju police district headquarters at 03-9289 9222 or the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearby police station.
