PETALING JAYA: Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim has been inundated by phone calls after revealing his personal phone number in Parliament for people to report on potholes.
Shahidan said he had received numerous phone calls regarding the potholes, adding that he was unable to pick up all the calls.
Instead, he now urged Kuala Lumpur residents to send him a text message.
"I urge them to send me an SMS and I will take immediate action," he told Utusan Malaysia on Friday (Oct 8).
On Thursday (Oct 7), Shahidan, during his winding-up speech on the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in the Dewan Rakyat, had said that the Ministry will ensure that all complaints regarding damaged roads in Kuala Lumpur would be resolved within 24 hours.
Shahidan noted that anyone was free to contact him, his deputy Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, as well as Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah to report on damaged roads.
He also read out his phone number (019-454 5111) as well as Jalaluddin’s (019-652 444) and Mahadi's (016-206 8883).
