KOTA KINABALU: Sabah continues to record declining Covid-19 daily cases on Monday (Oct 4) at 677 infections compared to 767 previously, as the state is on track towards the curve flattening trend.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said there was no longer a backlog of cases reported over five days in Monday's figures.
"From the total, 384 cases or 56.72% are those within 24 hours while the remainder are cases reported between two to five days late.
"The data analysis also shows that Sabah is on the path of flattening the curve,” he said.
Masidi however reminded the public that the main factor, whether the number of new cases go up or down, depended on their behaviour and discipline in adhering to the standard operating procedure.
The data showed that the number of cases in 21 districts had dropped while Kinabatangan's drastic hike in infections to 107 compared to 15 the day before, was due to two new workplace clusters.
Masidi said the Sungai Tabulion cluster contributed to 63 new cases while the Sandau Sawit cluster registered 25 new cases, which contributed to 82.2% of Kinabatangan's figures.
"Only three districts recorded cases over 50, namely Kota Kinabalu (94) and Keningau (78) besides Kinabatangan," he added.
