Melaka assembly unanimously votes to allow Pantai Kundor rep to attend proceedings virtually

MELAKA: The Melaka Legislative Assembly has unanimously voted to allow a Covid-19 positive assemblyman to attend the proceedings virtually on Tuesday (Sept 21).

Speaker Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said this means that Datuk Nor Azman Hassan (Umno-Pantai Kundor) could access the proceedings online from home where he is under mandatory quarantine until Sept 26.

The motion to grant permission for Nor Azman to attend the proceedings virtually was tabled by Datuk Seri Idris Haron (Umno-Sungai Udang) and supported by Datuk Wira Ismail Othman (Umno-Kuala Linggi) and Adly Zahari (Amanah-Bukit Katil).

Idris told the assembly that Melaka will be the first state to go hybrid by allowing an assemblyman to be part of the proceedings as he is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.

However, Nor Azman is not allowed to take part in any voting throughout the proceedings.
