Covid-19: Special portal for schools to register for teen vaccinations, says KJ's special officer

PETALING JAYA: Educational institutions that want to be a part of the Covid-19 vaccination programme for teenagers must register first, says the Health Minister's special officer Selvee Ramasamy.

She said that schools and other educational institutions will need to register on the Vaksin-Anak-Ku portal at vaksinanakku.herokuapp.com.

Vaccination appointments will be given to students registered by their educational institutions and those with MySejahtera accounts will also be able to see the appointments there.

“To obtain the digital vaccination certificate for teens, parents and guardians of teenagers are encouraged to register their children as dependents in MySejahtera or teenagers who have smartphones can register on MySejahtera as well,” Selvee tweeted on Monday (Sept 20).

The immunisation programme for teenagers had started in Sarawak on Sept 8 and Labuan on Sept 11.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said teens in Sabah have also received their jabs through the outreach programme organised in the state’s interior areas.

Teenagers in Putrajaya, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Perlis and Pahang started receiving their Covid-19 jabs on Monday.

“The Health Ministry targets are (to ensure) 60% of 16 to 17-year-olds get at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine by November 2021 (and) 80% of those eligible to be vaccinated get the full dose before school opens in the 2022 session,” Selvee said in a tweet.

She added that the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination programme for teenagers was under the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force chaired by Deputy Health Minister 1 Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.
