Social activist Uncle Kentang hopes Commonwealth Award can inspire others

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Social activist Kuan Chee Heng hoped that the Commonwealth Points of Light Award bestowed to him in recognition of his exemplary service to the community will pave the way and inspire more individuals, non-governmental organisations and corporate companies to come forward in extending welfare and humanitarian assistance not only to fellow Malaysians, but also to refugees and UNHCR cardholders on humanitarian grounds.

Kuan, 57, better known as 'Uncle Kentang', said the award belongs to all donors and Malaysians who work hard and support all initiatives taken to uplift the quality of living.
