PM: Terengganu to move to Phase 3 of NRP from Friday (Sept 17)

PUTRAJAYA: Terengganu will move to Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan effective Friday (Sept 17), says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the matter was agreed upon by the pandemic management special committee at its meeting on Wednesday (Sept 15).

The relaxation of standard operating procedure (SOP) to be enjoyed by Terengganu will be similar to other states that have entered Phase 3.

Details of the SOP are available on the National Security Council website.

The Prime Minister observed that following the relaxation of SOPs as announced by the government recently, many people have begun to ignore regulations.

“I hope that the public will continue to abide the SOP so that we can break the chain of infection,

“The government’s willingness to allow for the rules to be relaxed does not mean that we all should ignore safety measures that were practiced for the past year,” he said on Tuesday (Sept 15).

The Prime Minister said while the public should benefit from the relaxed rules, they should also continue to be responsible and disciplined.

“Please continue to follow the SOP, use face masks, practice social distancing and maintain personal hygiene.

“Enforcement personnel will continue to monitor and will not hesitate to act against those who violate the guidelines,” he said.
