Warisan in the dark over bipartisan cooperation

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah was kept out of the discussions by Pakatan Harapan and the government over the memorandum of understanding on bipartisan cooperation, says Warisan Youth chief Datuk Azis Jamman.

He said at no point did Pakatan or the government invite the party to join in discussions on the MOU before it was signed yesterday.

“They had been holding talks with the government but we were not invited or informed of them,” he said when contacted.

For such discussions, he said Warisan would have highlighted issues that needed to be addressed for Sabah and Sarawak, especially in terms of Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“We don’t even know the contents of the MOU,” said the Sepanggar MP.

He also took to task Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his continued talk of inclusiveness.

“We were kept in the dark. He always spoke of inclusiveness but we were not even informed of the meetings.

“The voice of Sabah and Sarawak should be heard,” said Aziz, whose Warisan with its eight MPs is working with Parti Sarawak Bersatu (two MPs) and protem MUDA (one MP).The group of 11MPs has worked on the broader opposition framework with Pakatan, which comprises PKR, DAP and Amanah, but is not part of the coalition.

Sabah-based Upko, with its lone MP, president Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, broke away with this bloc to join Pakatan.
