KUALA LUMPUR: A sum of RM5.9mil, part of the millions in Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption trial involving charity foundation Yayasan Akalbudi, did not come from illegal activities, the High Court heard.
Instead, the money came from two contributors, textile wholesaler Junaith Asharab and jeweller Mubarak Hussain Akhtar Husin, who testified for the prosecution.
