KUALA LUMPUR: The special meeting of Malay Rulers at Istana Negara on Friday (Aug 20) to deliberate who should be appointed as prime minister of Malaysia has concluded.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is likely to inform Malay Rulers the decision of the verification exercise carried out over the past few days to confirm who was likely to have majority support of MPs in the Dewan Rakyat.
4.31pm: The Pahang motorcade leaves using another exit.
4.22pm: The Terengganu Sultan leaves Istana followed by the Rulers of Selangor (4.23pm), Negri Sembilan (4.25pm), Perak (4.28pm), and Kedah (4.30pm).
4.13pm: Bernama reports that the special meeting of Rulers has just concluded.

3.15pm: It is learnt that the Rulers of Perlis and Kelantan are not at the meeting.
2.37pm: The Sultan of Johor will not be attending the special meeting of Rulers.
2.36pm: The gates to Istana Negara are now closed.
2.35pm: Negri Sembilan's Yang di-Pertuan Negeri arrives.
2.25pm: The Sultan of Terengganu arrives.
2.22pm: The Sultan of Selangor goes through the palace gates.
2.13pm: Kedah's Sultan Sallehuddin ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah arrives.
2pm: It is now raining heavily in front of the palace. Members of the media who were in place as early as 11am are seeking shelter under umbrellas.
1.55pm: The first motorcade is seen entering the Istana Negara gates, believed to be from the Pahang royal family. It is not known who is in the lead vehicle.
