Cops arrest four, seize drugs worth RM44,000 in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: Three men and a woman were detained in three separate raids here that netted an array of drugs worth some RM44,000.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said the first raid was conducted at about 6pm on Aug 2 at Seksyen 19, Shah Alam, where a 35-year-old man was detained.

"We seized drugs including 996 Yaba pills and 30.8 litres of ketum water, along with several chemicals used to produce drugs.

"The suspect did not have any prior criminal record," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Aug 17).

In the second operation, a 26-year-old man was detained at Seksyen 17 Shah Alam at about 12pm on Aug 6.

"We seized 11.34g of heroin.

"The suspect has two prior criminal records, but tested negative for drugs," he said.

The last raid led to the arrests of a 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman in front of a restaurant in Setia Alam on Aug 13.

"We seized some 67g of syabu from the suspects.

"Further investigations led us to the suspects' rented house, where drugs including syabu and ganja were seized," he said, adding that the collective value of the drugs came up to RM44,068, and is enough for 3,105 addicts.

"We will investigate the matter further to uncover the extent of the syndicates," said ACP Baharudin.
