Fans devastated by news of singer Siti Sarah’s death

PETALING JAYA: The death of singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin (pic) from Covid-19 has devastated her fans.

Siti Sarah, 36, passed away yesterday at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre.

She was buried at the Sungai Pusu Muslim cemetery in Gombak near her mother’s grave at 1.20pm yesterday.

She had been eight months pregnant with her fourth child.

Last Friday, Siti Sarah underwent a three-hour surgery to deliver her fourth child, a son named Ayash Affan, after her health condition took a turn for the worse.

She was hospitalised on Aug 4 after experiencing severe coughing and low oxygen levels.

She was put into an induced coma on the same day of her hospitalisation.

Her husband, comedian Shuib Sepahtu, when met after the funeral, thanked everyone for helping out and taking care of his wife.

“Alhamdullilah (thank God), my father-in-law is okay.

“Please pray that things will go smoothly. I would like to thank everyone who was there for my wife throughout this ordeal,” mStar quoted Shuib as saying.

Fellow artistes and fans have taken to social media to convey their condolences after Shuib shared the news of his wife’s death on Instagram.

Actress Hannah Delish tweeted: “All my strength, love and prayers to Siti Sarah’s family during this heartbreaking time. May Almighty Allah grant her eternal peace.”

YouTuber Jin Lim aka Jinnyboy wrote: “Rest in peace Siti Sarah. Prayers out to the family. Such sad news to wake up to.”

Many fans also expressed their shock at the singer’s passing, highlighting Siti Sarah’s motherly instinct in wanting to save her child first and foremost.

They called her “a strong woman” and “a strong mother”.

Some fans shared Siti Sarah’s songs, such as Kesetiaan and Semakin, stating that the songs’ lyrics would now carry a deeper meaning.

Netizens also shared the tragic news as a reminder for everyone to get vaccinated and take the pandemic more seriously.

“I hope this news of Siti Sarah can open everyone’s eyes that didn’t believe in Covid-19. This thing kills,” said one Twitter user.

“Covid-19 is not a joke guys, Al-Fatihah Siti Sarah binti Raissudin,” read another tweet.

Siti Sarah was active on Instagram just last week and looked healthy as she shared recipes and make-up tips.On July 26 and Aug 1, she uploaded video clips on Instagram of her husband and children taking Covid-19 tests.

In the caption, she wrote that it was very difficult to watch her children crying as they took the tests.

She also mentioned that she was worried about her three young children and her unborn baby.

It was reported earlier that Siti Sarah’s family was found to be Covid-19 positive on July 25 after their domestic helper was confirmed to be positive.
