PETALING JAYA: No MPs were among the 14 Covid-19 cases detected this week in Parliament when the special sitting was held for four days from Monday, according to the Health Ministry.
It was three more than the 11 cases revealed by the ministry on Thursday after it instructed all those in Parliament to be tested for the virus.
The five-day sitting was adjourned later that day.
The ministry, in its statistical report released to Perikatan Nasional ministers, said three cases involving security officers were detected on Monday and Tuesday.
These three cases were among the 14 detected.
“Using the RTK-Antigen saliva test kit, 1,183 individuals were tested on July 29 and 10 were found to be positive,” said the report.
One other positive case was registered that day, before the mass testing session.
The report added that no MPs had tested positive that day.
Those found to be Covid-19-positive on Thursday were Parliament officials, a police outrider and officers from various ministries.
