SERDANG: Hospital Selayang is in need of oxygen cylinders for a high number of Covid-19 patients.
GoCare project manager Xilas Ngang, who has been donning the Spider-Man superhero suit, spreading cheer and delivering food and other items to hospitals since May, said crowdfunding had been mooted for this.
“We went to Hospital Selayang on Tuesday and found that it is in need of oxygen tanks. The hospital was converted to a full Covid-19 hospital on July 21 but lacks medical equipment,” he said.
Ngang, who was in his superhero suit again, delivered personal protective equipment, face masks and food at Hospital Serdang yesterday.
From his team’s frequent hospital visits, he said Hospital Kajang had also reached out for some trolleys to move oxygen tanks.
“We are now doing crowdfunding for oxygen tanks and trolleys. This is why we visit these hospitals in the Klang Valley – to know what they need so that we can help them accordingly.
“We will send the trolleys to the hospital next week,” he said.
GoCare is an initiative under the Crisis Relief Squad MCA (CRSM) to raise funds for underprivileged individuals and groups.
