The fight between George Foreman and Joe Frazier, known as “The Sunshine Showdown”, took place in Jamaica on Jan 24, 1973. It was meant to be a “tune-up” event for Frazier, ahead of his anticipated rematch with Muhammad Ali. Foreman’s triumph stunned the world in a fight which is still seen as an epic battle in boxing history.
