Ismail Sabri: 592 issued compound notices for SOP violations on Tuesday (June 29), eight remanded

KUALA LUMPUR: Action was taken against 600 individuals for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Tuesday (June 29).

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said compound notices were issued to 592 individuals, while eight others were remanded.

"Among the top offences were failure to record personal details before entering premises, failure to maintain physical distancing, as well as illegal interstate and inter-district travel, and dining in at food premises.

"A total of 4,598 compliance operation task force teams were deployed nationwide on Tuesday," he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 30).

On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 25 undocumented immigrants were detained and six land vehicles were seized on Tuesday.

"The authorities conducted 992 roadblocks nationwide," he added.

Ismail Sabri said 592 individuals entered Malaysia on Tuesday and were placed under mandatory quarantine.

"Since July 24 last year, a total of 237,097 individuals have returned to the country.

"Of this number, 8,658 people are still undergoing quarantine, 225,574 have been discharged and 2,865 were sent to hospitals for treatment," he said.

He also said 59 foreigners underwent Covid-19 tests and two positive cases were recorded.

"Cumulatively, a total of 700,196 foreign workers have been screened involving 36,375 employers.

"Also cumulatively, 10,375 of them tested positive and 689,821 tested negative.

"Screenings for foreign workers have been compulsory since Feb 1," he said.
