Cops seize RM400,000 worth of drugs during 10-day anti-narcotics operation

KUALA LUMPUR: A 10-day anti-narcotics operation in Sentul led to more than RM400,000 in seized drugs.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai, at a press conference at the district police headquarters here Monday (June 28), said that the operation began on June 14.

"A total of 41 suspects aged from 19 to 55 were arrested," he said.

The value of the drugs seized throughout the operation was estimated at RM438,713.16.

Following the operation, police received information of a drug distribution syndicate operating in the Jinjang area.

"Acting on information gathered, a raid was conducted in front of a laundromat in Taman Batu Muda on June 24.

"A 48-year-old man was arrested there and checks on his motorcycle led to the discovery of 10 compressed packages of suspected marijuana.

"The suspect then took the police to a house in the area where a second suspect, aged 43, was arrested," he said.

Checks on the second suspect's car led to the seizure of 26 compressed packages of suspected marijuana.

ACP Beh said that the group had been active since 2020 and that the drugs were to be distributed around Jinjang and the Klang Valley.

He added that pushers would deliver drugs to their customers directly via motorcycle.

"The value of the seized marijuana is estimated to be around RM90,000," he said.

Both suspects have been remanded until July 1.
