Pakatan leaders: Parliament must sit before Aug 1 to discuss pandemic fight and recovery efforts

KUALA LUMPUR: The Pakatan Harapan presidential council has reiterated its stance that Parliament should reconvene as soon as possible in upholding the order of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said in a statement on Wednesday (June 23) that in accordance with Article 150(3) of the Federal Constitution, a Parliament sitting is necessary before Aug 1 so that the Proclamation of Emergency and the Emergency Ordinances can presented and considered by MPs.
