PUTRAJAYA: The government is projecting that private medical practitioners roped in for the national vaccination programme will be able to carry out 145,000 inoculations a day by July, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister said that as of
June 11, a total of 430,219 out of 4,227,550 doses were administered by private medical practitioners registered under Protect Health.
“This is equivalent to 10.2% of the vaccinations that have been done. Private medical practitioners will contribute 60,000 doses a day this week and this will increase to 78,000 a day on June 23," said Khairy
“Our projection is that by July, private medical practitioners will help administer 145,000 doses a day,” he added at a press conference on Monday (June 14).
As for payment, Khairy said that RM14 was paid to private medical practitioners per vaccination and another RM1 will be paid to Protect Health, a company under the Health Ministry.
“This (payment to Protect Health) is for chargers to administer the programme such as training, development of proprietary system, registering the private medical practitioners and to monitor the vaccination activities among others,” he said.
