PUTRAJAYA: Those involved in the “All Together Now Malaysia (ATNM)” television show, including 50 celebrity juries will be called up in connection with suspected Covid-19 violations.
OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Fadzil Ali said the show, which was broadcast on June 6, had garnered attention as 50 juries were allegedly not wearing face masks.
"A police report was lodged on June 8 and the complainant alleged that the show had violated the SOP (standard operating procedure) during the movement control order (MCO).
"Initial investigations showed that the show was recorded at Pusat Konvensyen Antarabangsa Putrajaya from March 3 until April 11, which was when the recovery MCO was enforced.
"According to the SOP, an audience of not more than 50% capacity was allowed while temperature checks, wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing are required," he said in a statement on Friday (June 11).
ACP Mohd Fadzil said police have started an investigation on the matter.
"We will call those involved including the 50 juries.
"We will refer the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor once the investigation is completed," he said.
He also reminded the public to comply with the SOP to curb the spread of the infection.
"Avoid speculation or sensationalising issues relating to the case," he said.
