Tajuddin pays RM1, 500 fine for not wearing face mask

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prasarana chairman Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has settled the RM1, 500 fine imposed on him for not wearing a face mask during a press conference recently.

Tajuddin, who is Pasir Salak Member of Parliament, paid the fine about half an hour after receiving the compound notice yesterday.

He had committed an offence under Rule 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Regulations 2021 for failure to wear a face mask during a press conference as stipulated under the movement control order’s standard operating procedure.

The offence took place at the KLCC LRT station after Tajuddin made a site inspection where two trains had collided on May 24.
