PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 infections yet, at 7,289 cases on Tuesday (May 25).
This brings the cumulative total to 525,889.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that Selangor topped the list of states with the highest number of cases, at 2,642, followed by Johor at 664 cases and Kuala Lumpur at 604.
Every state and Federal Territory in Malaysia has recorded new cases.
Perlis, which is the smallest state in Malaysia, recorded the least number of new cases with eight new infections, followed by the Federal Territories of Putrajaya at 23 and Labuan at 63.
In the same 24-hour period, there were 60 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 2,369.
There were also 3,789 recoveries, which means 460,062 have recovered from the disease nationwide.
There are still 726 patients in intensive care units, with 373 requiring ventilation support.
