MCA: Israel has broken many UN resolutions

PETALING JAYA: Israel has broken at least 28 resolutions under the United Nations Security Council as well as international laws pertaining to apartheid, ethnic cleansing and collective punishment, says Datuk Chong Sin Woon.

Expressing his sadness upon learning that the Israeli military had no plans to cease violent attacks against the Palestinians, the MCA secretary-general said he was moved by how Malaysians continued to speak out against these atrocities even as they called for hostilities to cease.

“It heartens me that Malaysians understand that the ongoing war crimes in Gaza transcend biases and they are not afraid to speak up forcefully. Their zeal is unmistakable as they want to see peace restored, ” he said.

Israel, he added, had maintained an indoctrinated system of methodical aggression, discrimination, dispossession and occupation against Palestinians for years in order to strengthen political control over the demographics and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Chong said the latest Israeli-led attacks on the Palestinians had killed 197 people, including 58 children and 34 women.

“Despite international calls for a ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instead declared that the attacks would continue in full force, ” he said, adding that MCA categorically condemned Netanyahu for the aggression and excessive use of force against a civilian population.
