Khairy: M'sia to receive 875,000 doses of Pfizer, AstraZeneca vaccines from May 19 to June 1

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia expects to receive about 875,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca between May 19 and June 1.

Khairy Jamaluddin, the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said the supply of Pfizer vaccines will be staggered between May 19 and 21.

“The next scheduled shipment from Pfizer will be a total of 259,740 doses.

“On May 19, we will be receiving 197,730 doses, while on May 20, we will get 44,460 doses. On May 21, we will get 17,550 doses, ” Khairy said on Monday (May 10) at his weekly joint press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

Including the upcoming shipments, Malaysia will have a total of 2.4 million doses from Pfizer.

Two shipments of the AstraZeneca vaccine are scheduled to arrive on May 20 and June 1.

Khairy said the country expects to receive a total of 615,120 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines.
