Just show medical appointment card, no need to get police permit, says Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: Those who have an appointment with their doctor or scheduled medical treatment only need to provide the appointment card to get past roadblocks, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).

The Senior Minister (Security) said the government has received a lot of complaints and grouses from patients who had to obtain a police permit to travel for their appointments.

"Applying for permission from the police has inconvenienced the patients, especially those who needed scheduled treatment for cancer and kidney ailments.

"Therefore, patients with doctor's appointments or scheduled treatment at medical facilities do not need to apply for police permits. They only need to show the appointment card when stopped at a roadblock," he said in a statement on Sunday (May 9).
