Suspects in Ampang tahfiz school abuse case to be charged today (May 6)


KUALA LUMPUR: The two suspects implicated in the alleged abuse of students at a tahfiz school here will be charged at the Ampang Magistrate's Court today (May 6).

"The first suspect will be charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing harm with a weapon. The second charge will be under the Immigration Act," said

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak.

He added in a statement on Wednesday (May 5) night that the second suspect will be charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm

On April 26, a married couple was arrested after police raided the school at Taman Tun Abdul Razak in Ampang following a report made by a parent.

Eight students were rescued during the raid and checks showed that the couple ran the school without a license.
