KUALA LUMPUR: Police are urging those involved in a misunderstanding allegedly involving a celebrity known as "Lan Pet Pet" and a food delivery rider near the Russian Embassy here to come forward to assist investigations.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said police have received a report lodged by the celebrity, whose real name is Mazlan Ahmad.
"The incident occurred at about 6.30pm on May 1 and a 23 second-video of the incident has gone viral. A scuffle allegedly occurred between the two individuals after a misunderstanding on the road," he said when contacted on Tuesday (May 4).
The food delivery rider has yet to lodge a report on the incident, he added.
"We hope he can come forward to assist with investigations.We also urge those with information on the incident to contact KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or Wangsa Maju police headquarters at 03-9289 9222 or any nearest police station," Supt Ashari said.
The video also showed the comedian being calmed and held back by three other men during the incident at the side of the road.
Lan Pet Pet was formerly part of a group of comedians called Senario.
