Covid-19: 2,881 new cases bring total to 411,594


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has recorded 2,881 new cases, bringing the nation's cumulative total to 411,594.

In a tweet on Saturday (May 1), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 2,865 were local infections while 16 were imported cases.

There were 15 more people who succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country's death toll to 1,521.

It also said there were 2,462 new recoveries for a total of 380,442 to date.

The number of active cases is now 29,631.

Of this number, 337 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 176 requiring ventilator support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 759, followed by Sarawak (445) and Kelantan (442).
