Man nabbed for lodging false report over car theft to use insurance claim for wedding


PORT DICKSON: A 25-year-old man was arrested for making a fake police report that his sports utility vehicle (SUV) had been stolen as he had planned to use the insurance claim to pay for his wedding.

Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamad said the man, who works as a data analyst, lodged a report on April 20 claiming that his Subaru Forester had been stolen from a parking lot at Lukut Prima.
